Workshop on Regional Economic Integration in Western Balkans

The focus of this technical workshop is regional economic integration agenda as a preparation for the upcoming Trieste Summit (12 July 2017) and in light of Joint Statement from the Meeting of the Western Balkans Six Prime Ministers (16 March 2017, Sarajevo).

The goal is to enable a consolidated overview of the key relevant regional economic initiatives aimed at supporting the economic growth and competitiveness of the region and present and discuss the scope of the future activities related to trade, investment, mobility and digital integration agendas. Valuables inputs are expected towards the preparation of a proposal for a joint approach to further economic cooperation in the Western Balkans through different initiatives in order to present them at the Trieste Summit.

The Workshop, organised by the Regional Cooperation Council, Central European Free Trade Agreement and the European Commission, will gather representatives of the line ministries in charge of trade, investment policies, labour, education and ICT as well as representatives from ministries of foreign affairs and prime ministers’ offices (Berlin Process Sherpas).
