The Fourth Meeting on Donor Coordination in the Western Balkans, to be organized by the Regional Cooperation Council, will address needs and priorities in the region, providing an overview of the ongoing trends, needs and achievements in areas of sustainable economic development, public administration reform, rule of law and freedom of expression, as well as current security challenges.

Representatives of the Western Balkan governments, the donors and the implementing partners will discuss previous experiences, ongoing activities, the needs and priorities for the period 2017-2019, focusing also on the activities within the agenda of the Multi-Annual Action Plan for Regional Economic Area in the Western Balkans, in order to coordinate donor assistance and avoid overlapping.

The meeting will gather major donors operating in the Western Balkans as well as representatives of Western Balkan governments, international organisations and civil society sector.

Annual donor coordination conference had been introduced by the Regional Cooperation Council in 2015. It aligns better the regional governments’ development priorities, donors’ sectoral priorities with the priorities set out in the SEE 2020 Strategy and enables the region to benefit most from the available funding.

Within donor coordination activities, last year RCC launched South East Europe Donor Assistance Database (SEEDAD), development tool for both for donors and aid recipients.
