“What terrorists want is for us to fear and turn in on one another. But we will never give terrorists what they want. We will stand together and we will make the point that terrorists will never win. That our values, our country, our unity will prevail.” - Amber Rudd, Home Secretary

A total of 36 people were killed by terrorists in the UK in 2017, including major incidents in both Manchester and London. The UK threat level currently stands as ‘’severe’’, meaning an attack is ‘’highly likely’’.

The evolving threat of “lone wolf” attacks by those inspired by the propaganda of groups such as Islamic State, Britain First and National Action presents an entirely new challenge for those tasked with protecting the UK population. In terms of funding for the intelligence services, the Government has pledged to spend an extra £2.5 billion on security measures and introduce new legislation to give security agencies more power to detect and prevent terrorism.

Join us for the Counter Terrorism Conference 2018 to hear the very latest insights from leading experts in the field of national security. Learn how the intelligence services are preparing for potential attacks on the UK, the implications of new Government legislation on combatting extremism and how the third sector can help prevent radicalisation.
