Report on comparative overview and analysis of good practices with identification of elements of court-annexed mediation program and comparative study on accreditation and certification systems' contributes to knowledge and understanding on how to raise the demand for mediation since the law and practice could contain many incentives for litigants as well as smart sanctions for refusing to consider mediation. The Report encompasses best policy approaches implementing the EU Mediation directive. Since all the beneficiaries in the region introduced court-connected mediation system, it is suggested to test a better approach through designing and implementing court-annexed mediation programmes, as one of the important tools to reduce court backlog in the region.
The Report was approved by the Working Group on Justice in May 2015.
