On the occasion of launching the findings of the regional Analysis of COVID-19 influence on migration in the MARRI Participants in the areas of irregular migration, trafficking in human beings and asylum, MARRI RC is organizing the virtual Regional Conference “Tuning migration procedures to Covid-19: Good practices and way forward” where the policy makers, practitioners, service providers and other key migration stakeholders will have an opportunity to discuss the impact of Covid-19 pandemic on the migration governance as well as to participate in shaping the policy recommendations concerning the above-mentioned areas.

The analysis which was conducted by 3 regional experts engaged through the Consultancy Provider i-APS, focused on:

  • The impact that COVID-19 pandemic had on the migration in the MARRI Participants;
  • Identification gaps and needs of the key migration stakeholders in adapting to the new situation;
  • Good practices for efficient and effective implementation of World Health Organisation recommendations in the daily work of the practitioners.

This activity is an integral part of the regional project ¨Preventing and Combating Trafficking in Human Beings in the Western Balkans¨ (PaCT) commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and MARRI as strategic partner.

Due to the restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Regional Conference will be held virtually via Zoom.
