Objective(s)
to reduce the impact of the lack of systematic post-conflict peace and reconciliation work among the conflict sites through reinforcing the civic mission of education in BiH
Key Activities
Main activities of the project are: meetings with stakeholders, target groups and beneficiaries in Podrinje, Posavina, Central Bosnia, Krajina and Herzegovina, consultation meetings, three study visits to Serbia, Croatia and Montenegro, 5 three-day training sessions for teachers, 2 travelling schools for peace, advocacy as well as promotion and outreach activities
Target groups
1650 students, 270 teachers, and 15 educational institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina
Results/Impact
As of October 2019, 832 students and 419 teachers had participated in the project’s peace, reconciliation, and conflict mitigation training. More than 200 representatives of educational institutions in BiH participated in activities to increase and enhance their capacities in peace, reconciliation, conflict mitigation, and mediation and integrate these concepts into formal education in BiH.
Fourteen education institutions are participating in the work of the Program Advisory Board. The project conducted 49 advocacy activities designed to build support for peace or reconciliation among key actors in the BiH education sector.
