Regional Workshops

The Roma Integration 2020 project is providing an opportunity to discuss regionally relevant issues and jointly develop policy directions applicable to all the participating economies. The regional workshops are used to elaborate particular policy aspects, to build the capacities of relevant public officials and civil society representatives to apply promising practices, and to exchange experiences in tackling Roma issues. The topics of the regional workshops are agreed by the Task Force of the project to ensure relevance to the context at regional level. The project engages experts on the topic to provide more comprehensive overview of the theory and practice.

Regional Workshops bring together the National Roma Contact Points from the Western Balkans and Turkey, along with the primary responsible officials dealing with the priority areas of education, employment, housing, health and civil registration; as well as representatives from relevant institutions.

All Roma Integration 2020 events support and promote participation of civil society organisations. The nomination of appropriate representatives of the civil society organisations is regulated through Roma civil society coalitions, which select such a representative through an inclusive and democratic process.
