22nd meeting of the SEE Health Network, Belgrade, Serbia, 19-20 November

The meeting will focus on the political commitment and preparedness of the South East European (SEE) countries to take forward regional cooperation in the area of public health in 2010 and beyond. Specific topics that will be discussed during the meeting include: establishing of the new SEE Health Network Secretariat in Skopje, organization of the third Ministers of Health Forum in Sarajevo, progress with the designation of new Regional Health Development Centres in the SEE and good governance in health systems. The RCC Secretariat provides political support and representation to the SEE Health Network and its regional activities and plays a coordinating role with respect to other initiatives relevant to regional cooperation in the area of public health. Currently, the RCC Secretariat is providing assistance in finalizing the Multi-country Host Agreement on the new SEE Health Secretariat. The current holder of the SEE Health Network Chairmanship is Serbia, and this is the last meeting organized by its Secretariat, served jointly by the World Health Organisation (WHO)/Europe and Council of Europe, before the new SEE Health Network Secretariat in Skopje takes over in January 2010. The meeting will be attended by representatives of the SEE Health Network member countries, partner countries and international organizations.
