Sarajevo – Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), Amer Kapetanović, held separate meetings today at the RCC premises in Sarajevo with the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Croatia, Gordan Grlić Radman, and earlier in the day with the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovenia, Neva Grašič.
During the meeting with Minister Grlić Radman, discussions focused on strengthening regional cooperation and advancing the shared European future of the Western Balkans. Both underlined the importance of dialogue, trust, and practical cooperation as key drivers of stability, economic progress, and integration in the region.
RCC Secretary General Amer Kapetanović expressed appreciation for Croatia’s continued support for regional cooperation efforts. “Croatia is a valued partner and an important bridge between South East Europe, the European Union, and the Western Balkans. We are grateful for the consistent support the Croatian Government provides to regional initiatives and to the RCC’s work. Together, we are advancing an agenda of growth, stability, and European integration, in line with the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) agendas and the shared goals of our region,” said Kapetanović.
Minister Grlić Radman reaffirmed Croatia’s commitment to supporting the Western Balkans on their EU path and welcomed the RCC’s ongoing efforts in fostering regional stability, connectivity, and socio-economic convergence. He highlighted Croatia’s readiness to share its experience as an EU Member State to help accelerate reforms and cooperation in South East Europe.
Earlier in the day, Secretary General Kapetanović met with Slovenian State Secretary Neva Grašič. Discussions focused on economic cooperation, sustainable investments, and the role of regional frameworks in advancing competitiveness and innovation across the region.
State Secretary Grašič commended the RCC’s work in promoting regional cooperation and reaffirmed Slovenia’s commitment to supporting the Western Balkans’ European path, particularly through initiatives advancing sustainable growth, digital transformation, and the green transition.
Both Minister Grlić Radman and State Secretary Grašič expressed Croatia’s and Slovenia’s support, respectively, for the process aimed at increasing contributions to the RCC. Both meetings also touched upon key RCC flagship agendas, including the South East Europe 2030 (SEE2030) Strategy, the Common Regional Market, and the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans, as frameworks for fostering inclusive and sustainable development across the region.
