Ministerial Meeting of the South East Europe Investment Committee

May 2018 Tivat, Montenegro

Ministerial meeting of the South East Europe Investment Committee (SEEIC), aiming to endorse the proposal for a Regional Investment Reform Agenda (RIRA), will be held in Tivat, Montenegro on 11 May 2018. This meeting is co-organized by the Government of Montenegro, Ministry of Economy, and the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC).

Having regional cooperation currently in the spotlight with the implementation of the Multiannual Action Plan for six Western Balkan economies’ (WB6) Regional Economic Area (MAP REA), SEEIC and its structures have been steering the process under the MAP REA Investment Pillar, namely the RIRA. The official RIRA proposal is in its very final stage and will be put forward as one of the MAP REA deliverables for the upcoming two Summits on WB6 at the levels of Prime Ministers, taking place in Sofia in May and London in July.

Besides endorsing RIRA within the context of MAP REA, SEEIC ministerial meeting will also reflect on ongoing work under other components of the MAP REA investment pillar, namely smart specialization and diversification of financial markets, as well as on the support to tourism industry as an important regional programme being implemented under the Competitiveness flagship of the SEE 2020 Strategy.
