Sarajevo – Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), Amer Kapetanović, met today in Sarajevo with Borjana Krišto, Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to discuss ways to strengthen regional cooperation in light of the EU Growth Plan and the Common Regional Market (CRM) agenda.
The meeting served as an opportunity to reflect on the outcomes of the Growth Plan Summit held in Skopje earlier this week, which highlighted the importance of delivering on reform commitments and enhancing regional economic integration. Secretary General Kapetanović welcomed Bosnia and Herzegovina’s recent steps on its EU path and encouraged further efforts to fulfil regional commitments, particularly in the areas of mobility and connectivity, which are essential for advancing the CRM.
“Regional cooperation is not an accessory, it is a necessity for EU integration,” said Secretary General Kapetanović. “Bosnia and Herzegovina has made important strides and can count on RCC support in overcoming remaining barriers, unlocking pending processes, and turning regional potential into concrete results for citizens.”
Chairwoman Krišto underlined Bosnia and Herzegovina’s strong commitment to regional cooperation as an integral part of its European integration process. She expressed readiness to engage constructively on initiatives that bring tangible benefits to citizens and welcomed the RCC’s continued support in addressing technical and procedural challenges that hinder progress.
The RCC remains engaged with all Western Balkan partners to ensure the effective implementation of the Common Regional Market and to make regional cooperation a driving force of sustainable growth and EU convergence.
