The Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), in partnership with the Regional Studies Association (RSA), will host the academic conference “Beyond GDP: Measuring Just and Green Transitions for Resilient and Inclusive Economic Growth” in Sarajevo on 3–4 November 2025. Organized within the framework of SEE2030 and the RCC’s Strategy and Work Plan, the event aims to strengthen evidence-based policymaking in South East Europe through dialogue on new metrics for sustainable and inclusive development.

The conference will open with a keynote exploring why moving beyond GDP is critical for forging new development paths, followed by policy-oriented discussions and presentations of academic research on innovative ways to measure inclusive and sustainable growth. It will also feature a science-for-policy session and exchanges on regional initiatives supporting just and green transitions in line with SEE2030 objectives.

Conference outcomes will inform a policy-oriented report to be presented to the RCC Board, SEECP Participants, and international partners.
