Third Ministerial Meeting on the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans

The Third Ministerial Meeting on the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans (GAWB) will take place on 18–19 September 2026 in Žabljak, under Montenegro’s Chairmanship of the 2026 Berlin Process. The Ministerial Meeting will serve as a strategic stocktaking and forward-looking forum, reviewing progress achieved to date and providing political guidance for the next phase of GAWB implementation.


The Third GAWB Ministerial aims to:
•    Review progress since the Dubrovnik Ministerial, with a focus on the implementation of endorsed regional deliverables;
•    Endorse the GAWB Ministerial Declaration 2026 and key regional deliverables, including the WB6 Climate Adaptation Strategy, WB6 Biodiversity Strategic Plan 2030 and Forest Landscape Restoration Plan, as well as regional measures on single-use plastics and Extended Producer Responsibility;
•    Strengthen regional coordination; and
•    Provide concrete political input to the Chair’s Conclusions of the Berlin Process Summit under Montenegro’s Chairmanship.


The meeting will bring together ministers from the Western Balkans Six, representatives of the European Commission and Germany, RCC Board members, and key regional and international partners.
