Organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the conference will focus on elaborating a common strategic platform for effective regional response to serious crime and illicit trafficking, integrity and criminal justice systems, drug prevention and treatment, HIV treatment and care. The Conference will review and endorse a draft Regional Programme and will elaborate technical assistance modalities related to the three thematic pillars of the Programme. At this occasion, the Regional Cooperation Council and UNODC will sign a Memorandum of Understanding on mutual regional cooperation, coordination and technical assistance in the area of Justice and Home Affairs.
