The Hague – Head of the Integrative Internal Security Governance (IISG) Secretariat Agron Sojati participated in the Joint Strategic Cooperation Forum for the Training and Operational Partnership against Organised Crime (TOPCOP) and Western Balkans Partnership against Crime and Terrorism (WB PaCT) projects, held on 30–31 January 2024 at the headquarters of the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (Europol) in The Hague.

The Forum, jointly organised by the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Training (CEPOL) and Europol, brought together representatives of partner institutions, economies and regional projects to discuss joint responses to organised crime and terrorism, with particular attention to emerging and evolving security threats.

Participants reviewed project developments, achievements and lessons learned, underlining the importance of regular strategic assessments, stronger institutional coordination and a common approach to shared security challenges.

Discussions focused on countering drug trafficking, migrant smuggling and online fraud, as well as on improving cooperation among law enforcement institutions and international partners.
Participating partners and projects highlighted the importance of the European Multidisciplinary Platform Against Criminal Threats (EMPACT) Support Network and the role of IISG in strengthening coordination, avoiding duplication and supporting more coherent security governance.
