Sarajevo – Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) Amer Kapetanović welcomed Montenegro’s Minister of Public Administration Marash Dukaj at the RCC Secretariat in Sarajevo today for an exchange on regional cooperation, reform priorities and Montenegro’s upcoming role in hosting this autumn’s Berlin Process Summit.

Kapetanović and Dukaj discussed ongoing cooperation and exchanged views on regional priorities, including digital transformation, connectivity, and the implementation of joint commitments that support closer integration of the Western Balkans Six with the European Union. Particular attention was given to the Western Balkans Digital Summit, which Montenegro will host this autumn as a key regional platform for advancing digital transformation, innovation and connectivity across the region.

“Public administrations across our region are at the forefront of reform, digitalisation and service delivery. Their work directly affects citizens’ trust in institutions and the pace of European integration. Montenegro has been an important partner to the RCC, and the coming period will provide an important opportunity to reaffirm our shared commitment to practical regional cooperation and results that benefit citizens and businesses,” said RCC Secretary General Amer Kapetanović.

Minister Dukaj underlined that Montenegro remains committed to ensuring the successful organisation of this autumn’s Western Balkans Digital Summit, which will bring together governments, businesses, innovators and international partners to advance regional digital cooperation. He noted that the Summit will provide an opportunity to accelerate digital transformation, promote innovation and support the implementation of regional digital commitments, contributing to the Western Balkans Six’s European integration and competitiveness.

The meeting reaffirmed the importance of coordinated regional action in supporting reforms, strengthening institutions, advancing digital transformation and improving services for citizens across the region.
