Organized by the Regional Cooperation Council with the support of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) and the Italian Ministry of Interior and hosted by the Government of North Macedonia, the conference brought together policy practitioners, security experts and institutions, international organisations, and regional initiatives to assess the evolving security environment in the Western Balkans Six. This report highlights shared security priorities between the Western Balkans Six and the European Union, addressing challenges such as organised crime, cyber threats, violent extremism, irregular migration, and foreign malign influence, while emphasizing the importance of stronger regional cooperation, information exchange, and alignment with EU security frameworks to enhance stability, resilience, and the region’s path toward EU integration.
