10th RCC Anniversary and Champion of Regional Cooperation Award Ceremony

This year Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) marks 10 years since its establishment. On the occasion of its 10 anniversary RCC is to host a reception for its partners, stakeholders and friends in Sarajevo on 14 March 2018. 

The reception will include brief overview of the organisation’s achievements and future plans as well as mini concert of Sarajevo band ‘Divanhana’, performing traditional music from the Western Balkans region.  

This opportunity will be used to present the Champion of Regional Cooperation award for 2017. This is an annual award to an individual or an institution for contribution to the development of regional cooperation in South East Europe in the course of the previous year. The award will be presented by the RCC General Secretary Goran Svilanovic. 

The Champion of Regional Cooperation award was inaugurated on 27 February 2013 on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the RCC. The first laureate of this award was the Central European Free Trade Agreement - CEFTA 2006, followed by South East European Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (SEECEL), Energy Community Secretariat (EnC), European Fund for the Balkans (EFB) and Sarajevo Film Festival (SFF) that received the award last year.

The RCC was officially launched at the meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) in Sofia, on 27 February 2008, under which auspices it continues to operate to this day.
