Launch of Balkan Barometer 2018

Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) is to launch this year`s, fourth edition, of the Balkan Barometer (BB 2018) on 6 July 2018 in Brussels.

The Balkan Barometer launch will present and discuss the main findings of the survey with the representatives of the European Union (EU), governments, NGOs, private sector, civil society, academia and the regional media. Opening remarks will be delivered by Goran Svilanovic, the RCC Secretary General, and Genoveva Ruiz Calavera, Director for Western Balkans in the European Commission’s Directorate-general for European Neighbourhood Policy And Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR), followed by a detailed overview of the main results of Balkan Barometer 2018. 

The Balkan Barometer 2018 is a comprehensive perceptions survey, representing the most recent examination of attitudes, experiences, aspirations, perceptions and expectations across the region. It surveyed 6,000 citizens and 1,200 businesses in in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo*, Montenegro, Serbia and The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia on a wide range of issues dealing with political, socio-economic, business and investment climate, infrastructure, rule of law, regional and European integration and other developments in SEE.

BB 2018 is to be released in two volumes: Public Opinion Survey, detailing the citizens’ attitudes, and the Business Opinion Survey, summarizing the business perceptions, with public and business sentiment indices produced to track dynamic progress over time.
