Governance for Growth Workshop, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina
21 February 2013
'Governance for Growth' is one of the main pillars of the South East Europe (SEE) 2020 strategy, dealing with necessary reforms in order to achieve the target of increasing governments’ effectiveness by 20% at the end of 2020.
The main goal of the workshop is to raise awareness on the SEE 2020 strategy, determine roles and responsibilities of main stakehoders and prioritize actions.
The workshop will bring together representatives of regional partner institutions, such as Regional School of Public Administration (ReSPA), Deutsche Gesellschaft für International Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), Centre for eGovernance Development for South East Europe (CeGD), Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF), Regional Anti-corruption Initiative (RAI), and Network of Associations of Local Authorities of South East Europe (NALAS).
The Governance for Growth pillar, as envisioned by the SEE 2020, will attempt to deal with the issues of public administration reform and fight against corruption and organized crime in a coherent and holistic way, while putting the focus on the need to strengthen transparency and effectiveness of governance, all in service of creating a favourable investment climate in the countries of the region.
