Tirana – The 15th meeting of the Regional Network of National Counter-Terrorism and Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism Coordinators (RNNC), organised by the Integrative Internal Security Governance (IISG), was held in Tirana.
The meeting brought together national coordinators, regional experts and partner organisations to review progress, exchange good practices and discuss shared counter-terrorism and preventing and countering violent extremism (CT-P/CVE) challenges across the Western Balkans Six.
Regional Counter-Terrorism and Security Expert Eddy Greif opened the meeting, while Agron Sojati, Head of IISG, presented developments under the Western Balkan Counter-Terrorism initiative (WBCTi) and introduced the IISG Database as a tool for mapping needs and responses and supporting stronger regional coordination.
Participants presented updates on their CT-P/CVE strategies and discussed progress in implementing the 2018 Joint Action Plan, including its further refinement following decisions taken at the Justice and Home Affairs Ministerial Meeting in Skopje in October 2023.
The meeting concluded by reaffirming participants’ commitment to sustained regional cooperation and stronger coordination in addressing terrorism and violent extremism across the Western Balkans Six.
