Sarajevo – The Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), in cooperation with the European Commission, organised a regional cybersecurity meeting bringing together representatives of the Western Balkans Six, European Union (EU) institutions, EU Delegations and other cybersecurity stakeholders.

Led on behalf of the RCC by Pranvera Kastrati, Acting Head of the Programme Department, and Tanja Maras, RCC Expert on Digital Connectivity, the meeting focused on strengthening regional cybersecurity cooperation and advancing the establishment of a cybersecurity pillar within the Integrative Internal Security Governance (IISG) framework.

Particular attention was devoted to the development and implementation of the Cybersecurity Database, designed to support the mapping of ongoing projects, assistance and cybersecurity needs across the Western Balkans Six.

IISG participated in the meeting through Agron Sojati, Head of IISG, and Ibrahim Begić, Database Coordinator and Analyst, who presented the database, its functionalities and its role in strengthening regional coordination, information sharing and evidence-based planning.

Participants discussed the validation of regional cybersecurity needs, preparations for the upcoming High-Level Cybersecurity Conference and next steps in cooperation among regional and international partners.

The RCC and IISG will continue supporting regional cybersecurity efforts through coordinated dialogue, needs and response mapping and further development of the Cybersecurity Database.
