Tirana – The Integrative Internal Security Governance (IISG) organised the Regional Pillar Support Group Meeting under the Western Balkan Counter-Serious Crime initiative (WBCSCi) on 29–30 July 2025 in Tirana.

The meeting brought together representatives of the Western Balkans Six and international partners to review progress under the IISG Serious Crime Pillar and discuss priorities for strengthening coordinated responses to serious and organised crime.

Participants reviewed the Annual Response Mapping Report for 2020–2023 and the second Needs Mapping Report for 2024–2026, focusing on regional priorities, existing support mechanisms and the alignment of future assistance with identified needs.

Discussions also covered updates and analytical findings from the IISG Database. Participants highlighted the importance of timely reporting, information exchange and coordinated planning in improving donor coordination and avoiding duplication.

The meeting resulted in agreement on the draft WBCSCi work plan, outlining priority activities and areas of cooperation for the upcoming period. Participants also agreed on the next steps for finalising IISG analytical products and preparing the reports and recommendations for consideration at the forthcoming IISG Board meeting.

The meeting reaffirmed the importance of a coordinated regional approach to combating serious and organised crime and the role of IISG in supporting strategic planning, cooperation and information exchange across the Western Balkans Six.
