BALKATHON FINALS: Best Digital Solutions from the Western Balkans to be Awarded at the Final Session of the 1st Regional Online Competition

3 winners of the 1st Balkathon in categories: Smart Tourism; Digital Learning Platform; and Online Payments are to be selected and awarded at the final ceremony held online, organized by the RCC and supported by the EU
Sarajevo - 1st Regional BALKATHON ends tomorrow, 16 July 2020, with selection of the 3 best innovative digital solutions out of 88 applicants from the Western Balkans, at the final online session.
9 finalists, 3 in each of the 3 competition categories: Smart Tourism; Digital Learning Platform; and Online Payments will present their works to the expert juries. The best solution in each of the categories will be awarded with EUR 10.000 to further develop their ideas for practical use.
The final ceremony will be opened by Majlinda Bregu, Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) and Colin Wolfe, Head of Western Balkans Regional Cooperation in the Directorate General for Neighbourhood & Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR), European Commission (EC).
The competition part of the session will involve introduction of jury members and presentations of the finalists in each of the categories, followed by voting for the best innovative solutions.
Awards to the winners will be delivered by the Secretary General Bregu and Director for Western Balkans at the EC’s DG NEAR, Genoveva Ruiz Calavera.
The entire final ceremony will be streamed live at the RCC’s You Tube Channel and Facebook Page, from 15.00 to 17.45 hrs (CET).
Initial selection of the finalists, out of all, 88 applications will take place also on 16 July 2020, in the morning (8.00 to 12.00) and the RCC will be updating on the process of the selection of the final competitors through its social media channels: Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
