Brussels – The Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) hosted the Coordination Meeting of Western Balkans Regional Organisations at its Brussels Liaison Office, bringing together partners from across the region and the EU to align priorities for next year and prepare coordinated contributions to the next Berlin Process Summit 2026 under Montenegro’s Chairmanship.

The meeting opened with remarks by RCC Secretary General Amer Kapetanović and Wojciech Kowalski, Advisor to the Director for Western Balkans at DG ENEST, who underlined the importance of coherent regional action, measurable results, and strong links between the Common Regional Market (CRM), the Green Agenda, and the EU Growth Plan.

“Regional cooperation works when it delivers visible, measurable progress. Our citizens see it and expect it. With strong public support for regional cooperation and EU integration, 2026 must be a year of delivery. RCC will continue working with all partners to ensure CRM and GAWB reforms translate into real benefits for people and businesses across the Western Balkans," said RCC Secretary General Amer Kapetanović.

Participants reviewed key outcomes of the 2025 Berlin Process cycle, discussed deliverables for 2026, and exchanged institutional priorities in a tour de table. RCC and CEFTA also introduced the CRM Monitoring Tool, a new transparency instrument designed to track CRM-related reforms in a consistent and accessible way.

The meeting gathered representatives of RCC, CEFTA, Energy Community, Transport Community, ReSPA, RYCO, the WB6 Chamber Investment Forum, RAI, European Commission, the German Government, and the Government of Montenegro, as the 2026 Berlin Process Summit host.

Participants agreed to intensify coordination ahead of the 2026 Berlin Process Summit and to reconvene in 2026 for the next coordination meeting.
