Sarajevo – The Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), Amer Kapetanović, welcomed the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece, Theoharis Theoharis, at the RCC headquarters in Sarajevo today.
The meeting focused on strengthening regional cooperation in South East Europe, especially under the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) that is marking its 30th anniversary this year, the implementation of the SEE2030 Strategy, as well as the region’s EU integration process and the reforms’ advancement under the EU Growth Plan.
RCC Secretary General Amer Kapetanović stressed the importance of a strong regional approach in advancing the European perspective of the region. “Regional cooperation is essential for delivering stability, growth, and concrete benefits to citizens across South East Europe. Through platforms such as SEECP and strategic frameworks like SEE2030, as well as the Common Regional Market Action Plan and the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans, the RCC works to translate political commitment into practical cooperation and measurable progress to the benefit of the citizens of our region,” said Kapetanović.
Deputy Minister Theoharis reaffirmed Greece’s continued and firm support for the RCC and regional cooperation in South East Europe, underlining the value of dialogue, mutual trust, and shared responsibility in addressing common challenges. He emphasized that closer regional coordination and alignment with EU policies, including the EU Growth Plan, are key to fostering sustainable development and long-term prosperity.
The discussion also addressed opportunities to further strengthen cooperation within the SEECP, accelerate the implementation of reform priorities, and enhance coordination among regional and EU partners to support reforms and economic growth.
The visit reaffirms the strong partnership between the RCC and its Board participant Greece and their shared commitment to promoting regional cooperation, sustainable development, and growth in South East Europe.
