Regional Cooperation Council Secretariat to open its Liaison Office in Brussels on 20 October

SARAJEVO/BRUSSELS – The Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) Secretariat will host a cocktail reception in Brussels on Monday, 20 October, to officially mark the opening of its Liaison Office with Euro-Atlantic institutions.

The reception will be hosted by the RCC Secretary General Hido Biscevic, and attended by the EU Commissioner for Enlargement Olli Rehn and a number of distinguished officials of European and Euro-Atlantic institutions.

The RCC Liaison Office will serve as a link between the countries of Southeast Europe and the Brussels based institutions, ensuring that the region features high on the agenda of the organizations such as the European Union. It will employ seven officials.

Secretary General Biscevic will also hold separate meetings with Commissioner Rehn, NATO Deputy Secretary General, Ambassador Claudio Bisogniero, and President of the European People’s Party, Wilfried Martens.

The reception will take place at 12.30 p.m., on Monday, 20 October 2008, at the premises of the RCC Liaison Office in Brussels, Rue Joseph II, 12-16 (c/o EFTA), B 1000, Brussels, Belgium.
