Sarajevo – The Integrative Internal Security Governance (IISG) held consultations with Bosnia and Herzegovina’s governance structures under the Western Balkan Counter-Terrorism initiative (WBCTi) on 30 April 2026, as part of the Regional Cooperation Council’s (RCC) Security Governance Hub activities.

The consultations focused on the Bosnia and Herzegovina implementation roadmap under the Joint Action Plan (JAP), monitoring methodology, needs mapping, donor coordination and updates to the IISG Database.

Participants discussed restructuring the WBCTi needs framework in line with the five objectives of the new JAP and improving indicators, targets and reporting mechanisms. IISG presented its support to Western Balkans Six partners in developing and operationalising their roadmaps, including guidance on monitoring structures, implementation tracking and integrating needs and project data into the IISG Database.

IISG and representatives of the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina also discussed institutional coordination, implementation timelines and preparations for the approval of the Western Balkans Six roadmaps by June 2026.

The consultations reaffirmed the importance of regional coordination, evidence-based planning and stronger cooperation under the WBCTi framework, as well as IISG’s role in supporting the monitoring and coordinated implementation of the JAP roadmaps across the Western Balkans Six.
