RCC Secretary General takes part in the Berlin Process Leaders’ Summit in London

London, 22 October 2025 – Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), Amer Kapetanović, took part in the Berlin Process Leaders’ Summit, hosted by Keir Starmer, Prime Minister of United Kingdom as part of their Chairmanship of the Berlin Process. The Summit brought together Western Balkan and European leaders to discuss three key priorities for the region: migration, security, and growth.

Representing the region’s collective effort to advance sustainable development, Kapetanović presented a package of 15 deliverables coordinated by the RCC, focusing on sustainable investment, the Green Agenda, regional tourism branding, and portability of social rights. The leaders confirmed the endorsement of all 15 deliverables previously agreed by the respective Western Balkan ministers at the Green Agenda Ministerial in Dubrovnik and the Economy Ministerial in London, held earlier this month.

“The results speak for themselves - fifteen concrete, RCC-led deliverables that will pave the way for stronger cooperation in sustainable investment, green transition, tourism, and social rights. I am also delighted to welcome the United Kingdom’s accession to the RCC Board, joining the club of 25 governments and the EU working to make our region better connected, more resilient, and steadily advancing towards EU membership. Together, we have a real chance to keep the region on a path of sustained growth and convergence,” said Amer Kapetanović, RCC Secretary General.

Kapetanović also highlighted the importance of swiftly implementing the commitments agreed within the Berlin Process, noting that 82% of Western Balkan citizens believe regional cooperation improves the political, economic, and security situation, because it delivers tangible results.

Leaders at the Summit commended RCC’s contribution and reaffirmed their commitment to advancing regional cooperation under the Berlin Process, recognising the RCC’s pivotal role in coordinating and delivering tangible regional results.

On the margins of the Summit, Kapetanović met with the Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Borjana Krišto, to discuss the implementation of agreed commitments and ongoing RCC-supported regional initiatives.
