Roads Congress, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina

The Congress will discuss road safety issues, infrastructural planning, available financal instruments, environmental protection and new systems of road management. It will assess current developments in relation to the construction of motorways in the South East Europe, especially the Corridor V-c.

The event is being co-organized by the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) Secretariat and the Association of Consulting Engineers of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ACE BiH), under the auspices of the Ministry of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It will bring together national authorities responsible for transport infrastructure, regional organizations and transport experts.

Regional Strategic Forum on Higher Education Reform in Western Balkans, Dubrovnik, Croatia

The meeting will discuss methodology for action and implementation of the Regional Roadmap in Higher Education, as well as terms of reference, governance, funding and action plan related to the Regional Platform for Benchmarking and Cooperation in Higher Education.

The event is being organized under the scheme of Structural Reform in Higher Education in Western Balkans Countries (STREW) of the Tempus Project and the Novi Sad Initiative, and the auspices of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) Secretariat, the Higher Education Authority of Ireland and the Swedish National Agency for Higher Education. It will be hosted by the University of Zagreb.

It will gather leadership of higher education institutions and authorities from the Western Balkans, as well as representatives of international organisations and international experts.

Second meeting of South East European regional expert teams on judicial cooperation in civil and criminal matters, Przno/Budva, Montenegro

The meeting will underpin the process of implementation of the most relevant regional conclusions and recommendations taken by the ministers of justice and home affairs from South East European (SEE) countries in the course of 2010 and 2011.

It will gather representatives of South East European central judicial authorities (assistant ministers/heads of international legal assistance directorates), experts within the ministries of justice, public prosecutors’ offices and magistrates, councils, heads of regional organizations and initiatives active in the area of justice and home affairs, representatives of EU institutions and agencies, Chairmanship-in-Office of the South-East European Cooperation Process, Council of Europe, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, professional associations and international experts.

This event is being organized by the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) Secretariat and GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit) open Regional Fund for South East Europe-Legal Reform, with support of ministries of justice of Romania, Serbia and Slovenia.

Regional conference ‘Lifelong Learning and Non-formal Adult Education in South East Europe’, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina

The aim of the conference is to strengthen the social partnership for the further development of the adult education sector in South East Europe (SEE). The event will support implementation of European and international goals for lifelong learning and adult education in the region through exchange of experience, promotion of good practice and identifying points of intervention for regional cooperation.

It will bring together representatives of institutions responsible for the sector of adult education from South East Europe, as well as representatives of relevant international organisations, civil society networks, independent experts and other stakeholders.

The event is being co-organised by the Regional Cooperation Council Secretariat and the Institute for International Cooperation of the German Adult Education (dvv international) – Head Office for SEE.

Coordination Meeting between South-East European Cooperation Process, Regional Cooperation Council and European Union, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina

The meeting will discuss practical coordination and harmonization of activities between the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) Troika (Serbia, The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Romania), the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) Secretariat and the European Union, in particular those related to the implementation of priorities of the Chairmanship-in-Office of the SEECP and the RCC Strategy and Work Programme 2011-2013, as well as other issues of importance for the work of the RCC and its Secretariat, such as the further steps in the process of streamlining of regional taskforces and initiatives in South East Europe.

Meeting of RCC Board, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina

The last meeting in 2012 of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) Board will hear a report by RCC Secretary General Hido Biscevic on activities of the organization’s Secretariat in the period May-October 2012, primarily in relation to the results achieved in the implementation of the RCC Strategy and Work Programme 2011-2013, as well as information on the work planned for the future period.

The RCC Board is expected to discuss the adjustments of the RCC Statute to new realities in South East Europe, and agree upon the dates of the meetings of the RCC Board in 2013.

The RCC Board meets three times a year and is chaired by the RCC Secretary General. The Board provides the RCC with operational guidance and supervision. It consists of those RCC members contributing to the budget of the RCC Secretariat as well as the European Union.
