Second Conference on Road Infrastructure Safety Management, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina

The event is to be co-organized by the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) Secretariat, the Ministry of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Association of Consulting Engineers (ACE) of BiH.

The aim of the Conference is to exchange information and knowledge, define framework conditions and activities needed for implementation of the EU Road Safety Directives with a focus on Directive 2008/96/EC, on Road Infrastructure Safety Management. It will bring together representatives of national authorities from South East Europe, responsible for road safety, internal affairs, as well as regional transport organizations.

Coordination Meeting between South-East European Cooperation Process and Regional Cooperation Council, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina

The meeting represents an opportunity to further advance practical coordination and harmonization of activities between the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) and the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), in particular those related to the implementation of priorities of the Montenegrin SEECP Chairmanship-in-Office and the RCC Strategy and Work Programme 2011-2013.

The meeting will pay particular attention to the preparations of the RCC Annual Meeting as well as of the SEECP Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and the SEECP Meeting of the Heads of Government. Following the ‘Western Balkans and Europe 2020 – Supporting Convergence and Growth’, regional coordination conference held in Brussels on 30-31 March 2011, the next steps in the process of streamlining of regional taskforces and initiatives in South East Europe will also be discussed.

Meeting of RCC Board, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina

The regular quarterly meeting of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) Board, second this year, will hear a report by RCC Secretary General Hido Biscevic on the activities of the organization’s Secretariat for the period 8 March-10 May 2011, information on the planned future activities of the RCC Secretariat and overview by the organisation’s senior experts on current status of implementation of the RCC Strategy and Work Programme 2011-2013.

Annual Report of the RCC Secretary General on regional cooperation in South East Europe 2010-2011 will be presented for acceptance to the Board members.

The RCC Board meets quarterly and is chaired by the RCC Secretary General. The Board provides the RCC with operational guidance and supervision. It consists of those RCC members contributing to the budget of the RCC Secretariat as well as the European Union, represented by the Troika, consisting of the EU Presidency, the European Commission and the Council Secretariat.
